Six Months

July 26, 2009 Des

Shiloh Na'vee Benjamin had his half birthday on July 21st.
Yup, that's right, Shiloh is 6 months old.
To say that time has flied since he was born would be a huge understatement.
Shiloh's life has marked in my own life a time of transition.
So many things have been decided on, changed and transpired since his birth, that I think he will be my child that is easily adaptable to change.
My parents moved, we decided to move to Belgium, we put our house up for sale... this kid already has seen his mother go through a bevy of emotions considering I do take awhile to adjust to change.
One thing I think is awesome is Shiloh by six months old has gone on two international trips. He has stamps in his passport to Belgium, Israel and Egypt. How fun is that?! He's such the world traveler already and I'm so proud of him.
Shiloh has had 3 milestones since being in Israel.

  1. He now can find his paci and put it back in his mouth all by himself, which is awesome because I don't have to get up in the middle of the night anymore to put his paci back in.
  2. He gets on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth.
  3. He has started sitting up by himself. Not great yet, but definitely more than he ever has.

I'm proud of my little boy. He's starting to get interested in wanting to be more mobile, which surprised me. For some reason I thought that he wouldn't want to crawl till like 10 months. Maybe it will still be like that, maybe not, who knows!
He is still the most chilled baby of all times. He just is a content little boy. He also weighs 21 pounds. To put it in perspective, Lyric weighs 24 pounds and his cousin Judah who is a year older weighs 17 pounds.

It's funny because he has brought a calming factor to my life. Normally an infant brings chaos, but Shiloh brings calm. He's my little peace bringer. I swear it's an anointing he has.
I am so happy that Shiloh is part of our family. I would be jealous if he was any one else's son. :)

So happy 1/2 birthday Shiloh! I know the next 6 months are going to pass just as quick.
